What is Guide-to-Health?

The Guide-to-Health Study is an 18-month long research project.

We are testing an Internet program for inactive adults to help them:

  • Improve their nutrition.
  • Be more active, through walking.
  • Not gain weight.

You can enroll in the Guide-to-Health Study if you are:

  • 18-63 years old.
  • Residing in the U.S. or Canada
  • Within our weight guidelines.
  • In good health.
  • Not currently active.

When enrolled in the the Guide-to-Health Study you will:

  • Log-on to the Internet program once a week for 18 months.
  • Complete 3 sets of assessments, each taking about 2 hours.

    • Assessment #1 - Now

    • Assessment #2 - In about 10 months

    • Assessment #3 - In 18 months

The 18 month-long Guide-to-Health program includes:

  • Walking Program - designed for you every step of the way
  • Nutrition Program - tailored to your needs and preferences
  • Free pedometer and digital scale - which you may keep
